Care Information

Caring For Naturally Dyed Fabric and Yarn

1. Hand Wash or Use a Gentle Cycle. Always wash naturally dyed fabrics by hand or on a gentle cycle in cold water to prevent fading and colour bleeding. Use a ph neutral detergent that is free of bleach or harsh chemicals.

2. For the first few washes, wash the fabric separately to avoid any potential dye transfer to other garments.

3. Dry the fabric in the shade or indoors to prevent the natural dyes from fading due to direct sunlight exposure.

4. Lay the fabric flat to air dry or hang it up. Avoid using a dryer, as high heat can cause shrinkage and colour loss.

5. If ironing is necessary, use a low heat setting and press on the reverse side to protect the colour.

6. Store naturally dyed fabrics in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain their vibrant colours.

I respectfully acknowledge the Kaurna people as the Traditional Custodians of the Adelaide Plains, the land on which I source local natural plant materials used to create my dyes. I honor their deep connection to this land, its plants, and its resources, which have sustained their culture for generations. I pay my respects to Kaurna Elders past, present, and emerging, and recognise their enduring relationship with the land, waters, and skies.
